A Scientific Foundation
The Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) began systematic research into perovskite solar cells in 2012. Its work became part of Korea's contribution to a rapidly developing field of photovoltaic science.

EnergyX Inc. was founded in Korea in 2019 with a longer-term plan to commercialize perovskite technology originating from Korea's research ecosystem for use in the built environment.
Buildings were the deliberate first market: a sector with significant energy demand at the point of use, extensive usable surfaces, and a practical need to connect generation, engineering and real-world deployment.
Building the Route to Market
EnergyX Inc. developed its commercial and technological foundation by commercializing advanced proprietary building envelope technologies and advanced intelligence technologies. This work created practical experience in bringing the company's advanced proprietary building-integrated energy technologies into real assets.
This work established a route through which the company's next generation of technology could ultimately reach customers.
Building the Proof
EnergyX Inc. completed the EnergyX DY-Building in 2023, demonstrating the commercialization of its advanced proprietary building envelope technologies and advanced intelligence technologies.
The building would later achieve a further milestone in 2025.
Measured Performance
The EnergyX DY-Building reached 121.7% energy self-sufficiency in its first full measured year (FY2023 performance, reported in 2024) — generating more energy than it consumed.

In 2025, the EnergyX DY-Building became the world's first Zero Energy Building Plus certified building, marking an important independent recognition of the building's energy performance and integrated design.
Separately from the certification, the building's measured record for FY2024 — reported in 2025 — was 129.6% energy self-sufficiency.

EnergyX Technologies, Inc. was founded in the United States in 2026 to provide the global platform for EnergyX's next phase of development, bringing together its technology programs, intellectual property, governance and international growth.
EnergyX Foundry and EnergyX Intelligence form the company's two complementary technology engines, combining advanced physical energy technologies with artificial intelligence and computational systems. The next-generation single-junction perovskite program is part of EnergyX Foundry.
An Official Partnership with Qatar through Invest Qatar
On February 2, 2026, EnergyX announced an official strategic partnership with Invest Qatar, establishing a government partnership to support the company's long-term expansion in Qatar.
The partnership supports the establishment of EnergyX's global command center and international headquarters in Qatar, alongside applied AI, future manufacturing and international growth.

The EnergyX DY-Building's measured record for FY2025, reported in 2026, was 129.9% energy self-sufficiency — the current record.
